Terms of Use

The fine print, in plain words.

These terms cover your use of the Stashlet app and this website. By downloading or using Stashlet, you agree to them.

Effective October 20, 2026

The short version

  • Stashlet is licensed to you for personal use on Apple devices you own or control.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically through your Apple Account until you cancel.
  • Your vault exists only on your iPhone and can't be recovered if you lose the device, delete the app or forget your PIN.
  • Your content is yours. We never see it.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Stashlet on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If anything in these terms conflicts with it, these terms apply to the extent permitted. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its support.

2. Subscriptions and purchases

Stashlet offers optional paid plans through the App Store:

  • Annual: $29.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
  • Monthly: $4.99 per month.
  • Lifetime: a one-time purchase of $39.99 for use on your device.

Prices are shown in US dollars and may vary by country. The price shown in the App Store at the time of purchase applies.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • If you start a free trial, you're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

3. Your content

Everything you add to Stashlet remains yours. Because it is encrypted and stored only on your device, we have no access to it and claim no rights in it. You're responsible for the content you store and for having the right to store it.

4. No recovery: please read

Stashlet is designed so that no one but you can open your vault, including us. As a result:

  • Your vault is not included in iCloud or computer backups and is not synced to other devices.
  • If you delete the app, lose or reset your device, or forget your vault PIN, your vault and its contents cannot be recovered by anyone.
  • Copies you save or share outside the vault are ordinary, unencrypted files handled by other apps.

Please keep a separate backup of anything you can't afford to lose. We are not responsible for content that becomes inaccessible for any of these reasons.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Stashlet to store or share content that is illegal where you live, to infringe others' rights, or to harm anyone. You also agree not to reverse engineer, copy, resell or redistribute the app except where the law expressly allows it.

6. Our property

The Stashlet app, name, logo, design and this website are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond using the app as described.

7. Disclaimer

We work hard to make Stashlet secure and reliable, but no software is perfect. Stashlet is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law. Security features such as the decoy vault, panic lock and screen-recording shield reduce risk but cannot guarantee protection in every situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content or profits, arising from your use of Stashlet. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Stashlet in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection law.

9. Ending use

You can stop using Stashlet at any time by deleting the app. Remember to cancel any subscription in your Apple Account settings. We may stop offering the app or features, and may end this licence if you seriously break these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If you keep using Stashlet after a change, the updated terms apply.
